Child Find

At Darnall Charter School, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. Our team is dedicated to identifying and supporting students from transitional kindergarten through eighth grade who may have disabilities, ensuring they receive the services and resources they need to thrive.

We work closely with families to provide a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) for all eligible students, following all state and federal laws. This includes students in private schools, students who are wards of the state, and highly mobile students with exceptional needs.

If you have questions or would like more information, please call us at 619-582-1822.  We are here to help.

Every student’s plan is unique. Once a team of educators and family members meets to discuss a student’s strengths and needs, we create an Individualized Education Program (IEP). This plan outlines the supports and services the student will receive to help them succeed. Our special education services follow the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004).
