Darnall Charter School has a strong legacy of serving students and families in the San Diego community. For decades, the school has been dedicated to providing an exceptional educational experience in an environment that is academically rigorous, nurturing, and joyful. Our commitment to high expectations and deep care for each student ensures that children are both challenged and supported as they grow.
Working for over 20 years in San Diego’s charter school community, I have remained focused on advancing educational equity, innovation, and whole-child development. I began my educational career as a middle school teacher and went on to become the founding principal of a TK–5 charter school here in San Diego. Throughout my time in schools, my goal has always been to contribute to school communities in which every student feels a strong sense of belonging and is supported to grow academically and personally. I earned my doctorate in education from San Diego State University with a focus on urban school transformation, and along the way, I have had the opportunity to gain valuable experience in charter school leadership, program development, and school operations.
At Darnall Charter School, our staff is committed to every student’s success. Our care, high standards, and sense of purpose is rooted in partnership, connection, and high-quality teaching and learning.
