Welcome

Welcome to Kindergarten!  My name is Denise Smith and it is my privilege to be your child's kindergarten teacher and accompany them on their amazing academic journey and path towards being life long learners. This is my 21st year teaching at Darnall and I love it when my former students come back and visit.

 

I was born and raised in San Diego.  I earned my Bachelor's degree, teaching credential, Masters in Education, and Reading Specialist certificate from SDSU.  I have a daughter, Ruby, and a son, Liam. Our family dog is named Sweet Pea. We enjoy swimming in our pool, going to the beach, watching live theater, and spending time together.

 

Kindergarten is my favorite grade to teach.  I love that we learn through play and discovery.  I am looking forward to a year of amazing growth for your child.  Thank you for entrusting them in my care. Together we will ensure your child's success!
