Introduction

~ Welcome to Middle School ~

Hello, my name is Amy Byrd and I will be the 7th and 8th grade Math Teacher. This will be my fourth year teaching Middle School Mathematics at Darnall Charter School, and I could not have joined a better middle school team!  I have my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and spent three years at Helix Charter High School, helping students in grades 9 - 12 achieve their goals in the area of mathematics. I cannot wait to get to know your child and help them become more successful.


In order for your student to be successful this year our communication needs to be frequent. If at any time you or your child has a question do not hesitate to contact me. My goal is your child's success and understanding in mathematics. To this end, I will do everything I can to help them achieve their math goals.

  • I am a complete Math Nerd
  • My boyfriend and I have 3 daughters
~ 14 years old attending Helix Charter High School
~ 13 years old attending Hillsdale Middle School
~ 1 month old
  • I love reading: my favorite books are Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and Peter & the Starcatchers
  • I eat like a 5 year old, in fact my teenager eats better than I do
